Carol founded CLD in 2008 after years in land planning, permitting, environmental consulting, and construction management across Washington. She has run projects from raw parcel to certificate of occupancy — custom homes and ADUs, short plats and subdivisions, mixed-use, commercial and community facilities, and environmentally sensitive sites.
Consulting is the natural version of the work she already did: reading a site and a code early, coordinating architects, engineers, subcontractors and agencies, and holding a schedule and a budget honest through construction. Clients get one experienced point of leadership instead of a stack of specialists who don't talk to each other.
CLD Consulting is a DBA of CLD Construction LLC. The construction entity and its history remain; the consulting name reflects where the work is now pointed.

Relationships with reviewers, planners and inspectors across Puget Sound jurisdictions — the kind that mean a question gets answered in a phone call instead of a review cycle. A referral network of civil engineers, surveyors, geotechnical engineers and wetland biologists, matched to jurisdiction and site type.
And a large catalogue of ways projects go wrong, which is most of what an owner is paying for. Experience in this field is mostly pattern recognition for failure modes, applied early enough to matter.
